Located in the imperial palace and first built in the 1930's, Jade Garden Hotel is recognised as a rare and classic commercial hotel amongst the others After 1946, when the CPC and Kuomintang came to the agreement to stop fighting, it was served as the office and residence for the organisation of CPC and at one time, there were many important leaders working and living here. Some precious documents and historical pictures of that time have been conserved even today. It was designated by the government as a historical landmark and completely renovated in 2006. The hotel is very conveniently located close to all the most important tourist attractions. It takes less than 10 minutes by walking to reach the Forbidden City and the central business district of Beijing, and 15 minutes to reach Tiananmen Square and the National History museum. From the guest rooms of the south wing, guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. The open air museum of the ruins of the Ming Dynasty Wall is right next to the hotel.
